Dark Was The Night - A Red Hot Compilation

Uma das melhores, senão a melhor mesmo, do género que eu já conheci. Não sei como a arranjar por meios legais, talvez Amazon. Senão, tentem nos torrents. Mas isso não é muito "boa onda", e passo a explicar porquê.

Por ocasião do Dia Mundia da Sida (1 de Dezembro de 2008) a 4AD anunciou o lançamento de Dark Was The Night.

Dark Was The Night foi lançado 16 de Fevereirobruary de 2009. Aaron and Bryce Dessner dos The National produziram o album com John Carlin (fundador da Red Hot Organization) como produtor executivo. Um total de trinta e duas faixas exclusivas foram gravadas para a compilação, a qual está disponível como cd duplo, vinil triplo e album por download, com os lucros a reverter para a Red Hot Organization - uma organização não governamental internacional de caridade dedicada à angariação de fundos e à informação sobre o HIV e a SIDA.

A Red Hot foi fundada sobre a premissa de que mesmo não tendo cura, a SIDA permanece uma doença que pode ser prevenida - usando a musica como veículo para angariar tanto divisas como para divulgação sobre a doença. É também o vigésimo ano da Red Hot, assim como a sua vigésima compilação.

On the occasion of World AIDS Day (1st December 2008), 4AD announced the official release date, complete list of participating artists and cover art for its release, Dark Was The Night.

Dark Was The Night was released on February 16th 2009 (Worldwide). Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National produced the album, with John Carlin (founder of the Red Hot Organization) its executive producer. A total of thirty-two exclusive tracks were recorded for the compilation, which is available as a double cd, triple vinyl and download album, with profits benefitting the Red Hot Organization - an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS.

Red Hot was founded on the premise that even without a cure, AIDS remains a preventable disease - using music as a great vehicle to raise both money and awareness for it. This is also the twentieth year of Red Hot as well as their twentieth compilation.
