Populus tremulardes is a species of deciduous tree, one of several species referred to by the common name Aspen, of the genus Populus belonging to the Salicaceae family. It is native to cooler areas of North America. The species often propagates through its roots to form large groves based on a single rhizome.
A clonal colony of Populus tremulardes designated as Pando is the oldest known living organism.
